Aquona celebrates World Environment Day

On June 5 we celebrate World Environment Day, in which this year the UN emphasizes precisely the need to act together for a better planet "No Air Pollution".

With this letmotiv, Aquona will be present in the streets, squares and educational centers of those municipalities where we have a presence with a multitude of activities with which to show our commitment to Sustainable Development.

In Ciudad Real, in collaboration with the City Council of the capital, Aquona will participate in a healthy breakfast at the Huerto Urbano del Pilar. About 100 children, as well as teachers and tutors, will be able to hydrate with the tap water source that Aquona will install. In addition, 1m3 of water is taught with water bottles so that the image of the plastic that is consumed is fixed in the retina.

As usual, there will be water tastings in Miguelturra, Aguilar de Campoo, Ponferrada, and Lerma with which to show citizens the benefits and economic, sustainable and healthy benefits of tap water.

In collaboration with Unicef, Aquona makes an exhibition about the ODS, which has been installed in its offices in Cuéllar, León and Zamora since June 3. In collaboration with Unicef, Cuéllar recently held the Water Race 'Drops for Niger' in which CEIP Santa Clara participated.

Another of the scenarios in which Aquona is shown on World Environment Day is through exhibitions in municipalities such as Aguilar de Campoo or León, where you can see the photos that appeared in the information space of El Tiempo de RTVCYL.

To these actions are added the Open Door Days in Ciudad Real, in collaboration with the Mancomunidad de Aguas del Gasset and the Wastewater Treatment Plant of Ciudad Real, Miguelturra and Poblete. Also the visits of schoolchildren and social and neighborhood groups to the facilities of Aquona in Segovia and San Ildefonso, in the latter case in collaboration with the Seprona de la Guardia Civil. In addition, Aqualogía sessions, Aquona's educational program, continue to be held in this framework, in which sessions of specialized monitors explain the Water Cycle, as well as to care for and respect it.

The Aquona 'road map' in the fight against climate change and air pollution in which all these actions are framed is specified in its Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development, called the REwater Global Plan (2017-2021). This is closely linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), approved by the United Nations in 2015 together with the 2030 Agenda.

Air quality is a prominent parameter in the business culture of Aquona that advocates a new model of relationship with the planet, in which we all commit ourselves to take care of our common home, which is the best legacy for future generations.
